Bangladesh Nurse Leadership Conference 2016

A National workshop for the Bangladesh Nurse Leadership Network (BNLN) was held today at Bangabandhu International Conference Center organized by Directorate of Nursing Service (DNS) and Human Resources for Health (HRH) Project in Bangladesh and funded by Government of Canada. The HRH Project is an initiative to strengthen Nursing Education and Services in Bangladesh. The BNLN is a voluntary network of nurse leaders and those who aspire to be nurse leaders. The Network provides a platform for education, information sharing, advocacy and mentorship and elevating the image of the profession.

Mr. Biman Kumar Shaha, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare was present as Chief Guest and inaugurated the workshop. His Excellency Benoit-Pierre Laramee, Canadian High Commissioner in Bangladesh, Bashudev Ganguli, Additional Secretary (Admin) and Subhash Chandra Sarker, Additional Secretary (Nursing), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh were also present as special guests. High officials from MOH&FW, Development partners, Nursing officials from Dhaka and outside were also present in the occasion.

Anthonia de Costa, BNLN Chairperson welcomed the guests at the onset and made a presentation on the Bangladesh Nurse Leadership Network of Bangladesh. His Excellency Benoit-Pierre Laramee, Canadian High Commissioner in Bangladesh, Bashudev Ganguli, Additional Secretary (Admin) and Subhash Chandra Sarker, Additional Secretary (Nursing), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh also spoke on the occasion.
